PET REIKI 
The Universal life energy of Reiki is based on the idea that ALL living beings have life energy flowing through them. When life energy is abundant, your pets are healthy and balanced, more relaxed and less likely to get sick. When life energy is blocked, disrupted or ebbing, animals will often be more easily affected by stress and less resistant to illness. Cats, dogs, birds, fish, ferrets, horses, or other large animals can benefit, just like people, from the gentle but powerful healing energy of Reiki.
Reiki for animals is NOT a substitute for proper veterinary care. Because Reiki is a healing energy, it will NEVER harm your pet. Animals young and old benefit from the loving healing energies of Reiki after they've experienced abuse, loss, a move, depression or other behavioral disorders, trauma, surgery, or illness. As with people, Reiki can sometimes lead to a healing of your pet's illness/injury, but Reiki does not change the natural order of life and may lead to a peaceful death, enhancing the transition for both you and your pet with a dose of unconditional love. Reiki has the ability to deepen the bond between you and your pet.
If your pet receives regular grooming or enjoys being touched, Reiki is another way to help your animal feel better. Fish, wild animals, or animals who are not use to regular touch can also be treated through distant Reiki (which can be performed from anywhere), or beaming Reiki (connecting with the animal at a safe and comfortable proximity). Most pets take to the energy easily and enjoy the hands-on treatments. Other pets may be more comfortable with hands hovering just above them or from across the room.

TREATMENT LENGTH AND FEESDepending on how much Reiki energy your pet is willing to take, a typical treatment lasts 20-30 minutes and costs $45.00. Treatment conducted in a pet's home will include a small travel fee of $0.50/mile.
Wisdom River Lodge typically services the greater Berkshire and Franklin County areas but will consider treatment for pets beyond this area on a case by case basis.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH REIKI FOR MY PETSThrough the years I have had many pets. Since opening to Reiki I have had the priviledge and honor to help my pets with it. To tell you all the stories would take up too much space. Most recently my almost 9 year old chihuahua was attacked by a larger dog and suffered a significant bite wound to her back. When I got her to the
Berkshire Veterinary Hospital in Pittsfield, MA for care,
Dr. Wohlfahrt didn't know if my baby would live through the night, and Ginger had to be stabilized before she could have the surgery necessary to close the gaping wound on her back. I wasn't ready to lose her, knowing that my 18 1/2 year old Jasmine would soon have to be euthanized. When I got home, I contacted people and asked that prayers, Reiki, and whatever good healing energies people could access be sent to Ginger, and as I tried to rest, I sent distant Reiki to her. The next day, the surgeon's,
Dr. Makuc, news was grim--she could need several surgeries, and she was high risk for infection, but she had lived through the night! Several days later, she was allowed to come home. Within 3 weeks her wound was completely closed, new, clean tissue was evident, and for all intents and purposes, Ginger was her old self again! Her healing was remarkable! I credit this to the skill and caring of the people at Berkshire Veterinary Hospital and all of the wonderful prayers and healing energies that poured in from around the world for this animal-- I gave Ginger Reiki every day, every chance I got. Ginger was aloof prior to her injury (because of abuse issues long before I got her). Now she is sweet and loving and allows me to cuddle her! I personally know the power of this great healing energy in my life and the lives of my animals.
